Netgear Genie Smart Setup – Get Connected

  • Join the wireless network Netgear_Ext.
  • A list of all the WiFi networks that are currently in the area will now be shown by genie.
  • After selecting the network name you want to expand, click next.

  • If your router is dual-band, select the 5GHz WiFi network and press the next button.

Login to your Netgear Genie Account

  • Verify that the WiFi network your extender is connected to is active.

  • Don’t type the login link in the search field; instead, enter it in the URL bar.
  • Switch to a different web browser.
  • Once, restart the router and extender.

  • Try returning the extender to its original setup.


  • Open the Netgear Genie software on the computer at work.
  • After selecting extender settings, input your login information.
